1821 North 3rd is a two story masonry commercial building with a simple, pedimented cornice with four brackets, two to either side of the gablet. Three double hung one over one windows are topped by brick arches with keystones. A simple lower cornice tops the storefront, which is largely intact. A large show window is at either side of the central door with transom. Wood bulkheads rest on masonry foundations.

Adam Scroth was the resident in this bakery from 1859-69.

Excellent example of an early three bay cream brick commercial building in nearly original condition. Examples of this style and date are rare in Milwaukee.

Adam Schrot or Schroth started his bakery in Milwaukee in the early 1860s and was at this location in 1866.

Locally designated district: 11/12/85.
