THIS TWO STORY COMMERCIAL BUILDING IS AN ENTIRELY INTACT EXAMPLE OF THE VERNACULAR COMMERCIAL ARCHITECTURE OF THE 1930S WITH ELEMENTS OF THE MODERNE STYLE. THE TWO BAYS ARE SYMMETRICAL; EACH RECESSED BETWEEN STEPPED OUT BRICK PILASTERS CAPPED BY STONE, STYLIZED CAPITALS WHICH SUPPORT A STONE ENTABLATURE. A BAND OF BRICK WITH STONE ORNAMENTATION IS FORMED BETWEEN THE ENTABLATURE AND THE STONE, STEPPED BACK PARAPET. THE FIRST FLOOR STORE FRONTS ARE INTACT. Sylvester Gorychka and Wenzel Koutnik were electricians and the original owners of the building. Alfred Muchin and Co. Furniture Store was housed in this building from 1930-1946. Carleton Studios was a tenant in this building from 1951-1987.
