Additional Information: | This one story Italianate styled depot features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a brick and wood exterior, a brick trim and an asphalt shingled gable roof. Wide overhaning eaves and carved brackets further distinguish the roof. On the side elevation the windows and doors are capped by segmental arched hoods. The depot is in fair condition. August 2013: New front doors and first-story windows in facade; some side windows restored. Locally designated landmark. August 2019: Appearance unchanged. "This building, Stoughton's first depot, was constructed by 1861 at what was then the east end of Main Street, with tracks flanking the east and west sides of the building. The depot has been altered on the front, but on the west elevation the outlines of the original Italianate windows and the Italianate brackets in the eaves are still visible."
