| Additional Information: | 2014- Appearance unchanged. 2012- This two-story vernacular commercial building historically known as the Arimond Store was constructed c.1873. It has a rectangular plan, dressed stone walls, and rests on a fieldstone foundation. The low-pitched hip roof is covered with asphalt shingles and the overhanging boxed eaves have vinyl soffits. Windows include replacement, six-over-six, double-hung sash; a large picture window; and a large single fixed pane with stone headers and sills. A modern shed-roof porch spans the front (west) facade and is supported by square posts. The original stone walls on the first floor of the front facade have been covered with modern stone veneer. An opening centered on the basement level of the side (south) elevation features a modern garage door. A single-story hip roof addition is attached on the north (side) elevation. The interior of the first floor has been heavily modified to serve its current function as a tavern. The original ceiling has been obscured by a drop ceiling, interior walls have been covered with modern replacement materials, and a bar spans the length of the south wall. 1974-Constructed pre-1874. Two story, hipped roof, rubble foundation. |
