Additional Information: | THIS TWO STORY, ITALIANATE STYLED RETAIL BUILDING WAS CONSTRUCTED IN 1876. (SEE BIB. REF. A). IT FEATURES A RECTANGULAR SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A STONE EXTERIOR, A STONE TRIM AND A FLAT ROOF. A HEAVILY BRACKETED CORNICE ADORNS THE FACADE, AS DO UPPER-STORY ROUND ARCHED WINDOW LINTELS AND WINDOWS. ONE FRONT ENTRANCE IS DESIGNED WITH A TRANSOM WINDOW. THE STRUCTURE IS IN GOOD CONDITION. THIS BUILDING WAS HISTORICALLY KNOWN AS THE JOHN HADFIELD BUILDING (SEE BIB. REF. A), AND THE GOOD TEMPLARS HALL (ON SECOND FLOOR [SEE BIB. REF. B]). IT WAS ALSO KNOWN AS THE JOHN MARTIN FEED AND FLOUR STORE (SEE BIB. REF. C) FROM 1917 TO 1924. FLOUR AND FEED STORE OPERATIONS WERE CONDUCTED IN THIS BUILDING FROM 1876 TO 1929 (SEE BIB. REF. A). THE STRUCTURE IS ASSOCIATED WITH COMMERCE IN THE CITY OF MINERAL POINT. (SEE BIB. REF. A). THIS BUILDING WAS DESIGNATED LOCALLY, BECOMING PART OF THE MINERAL POINT LANDMARKS DISTRICT IN 1972. 2012- "Born in Derbyshire, England, John Hadfield came to Wisconsin in 1850, moving to Mineral Point in 1855. He had a boot and shoe and hide trading business here for more than 35 years. Other businesses at this location were the Good Templars Hall (upper); J.C. Martin & Co. Feed and flour Store; The Hide House; Joseph E.
