| Additional Information: | 2010: This is a two-story, Period Revival brick building with a modest, stepped parapet adorned with diagonal-patterned brick. The building's storefront is found within a large, segmental-arched opening and features copper columns with capitals and leaded glasswork transoms. The second story contains deeply recessed, tall, modern, single-light windows found below a copper, denticulated cornice. Metal balconets adorn these openings. Constructed in 1915, the subject building was designed by Fernekes & Cramer for owner Frank Mueller. Mueller used the building as both his residence and as the location of his upholstery business. A furniture repair business operated by Walter Hill occupied the building in 1937, while Ace Van Lines & Movers utilized the property in 1950. The van line would remain until at least 1962 Resurveyed as part of Milwaukee Downtown Connector Arch/History Survey (2010), Prepared by Heritage Research. |
