ROUND ARCHED RECESSED PORCH ON 2ND FLR. CORINTHIAN COLUMNS AND GARLANDED FRIEZE ON PORCH. CALLED THE NICKEL PALACE BECAUSE THE OWNER SUPPOSEDLY BUILT IT W/MONEY FROM HIS SALOON BUSINESS, ACCORDING TO KAUPANGER. Edward came to Dane Co. in 1871 He originally worked at the T.G. Mandt Wagon Works before operating a restaurant and tavern. He also sold real estate in Wisconsin and Minnesota. The Erickson's had two daughters: Alma and Amy. |
