Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Arched windows with brick voussoirs and raised brick moulding above the window; one bay open front porch with pedimented round arched roof dentil trim and clustered Tuscan columns; rear gable roofed addition with glass enclosed side porch. This was the home of several families during the historic period. Initial research indicates that none of the occupants of this house are historically significant. This brick side gabled house is significant under criterion C as an example of the side gabled vernacular house form. Among the group of well-preserved side gable houses remaining in Watertown, this 19th century house touched by the influence of the Italianate style popular at the time of construction exhibits exceptional integrity. Other good examples of the side gabled vernacular house form are located at 702 Western Ave. (44-11), 513 No. 6th St. (48-9), and 115 Lynn (19-27). |
