Additional Information: | 1984--Flower boxes, entry canopy, exterior chimney, leaded windows. Fred L. Bauerfiend ran the Floral Center Greenhouses after careers as a saloon operator and mill worker. His house on Manitowoc Street was constructed in 1926. The Fred L. Bauerfiend House is situated in a mixed Industrial/Residential neighborhood. A rectangular two story house from the Tudor Revival Period of construction, the multi-gabled roof material is asphalt shingles, the siding is wood shingles, and the foundations are of concrete block. The fenestration is comprised of doublehung windows with single panes on the bottom and diamond paned leaded sashes on the top. The roof features a large shed dormer with a small gabled dormer over the front entry canopy. A large exterior chimneuy adorns the front facade. Decorative features include brackets for flower boxes underneath the windows. The Fred L. Bauerfiend House is an outstanding example of the Tudor Revival Period of Architecture. |
