Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the State Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. The first part of what later became St. Mary's Hospital was built in 1908 and was a large American Foursquare style-influenced house-like building. A new Neo-classical Revival style wing was added in 1929 when the hospital was taken over by the R.C. Order of the Sisters of the Divine Savior and a south wing was completed in 1959. The hospital was vacated in 1979 and has since been almost completely remodeled for apartments and has lost its historic appearance. |
