Additional Information:Robert H. Purdy was assistant general manager at Tuttle Press. His house on Lake Road was constructed in 1948.

The Robert H. Purdy House is associated with no known significant individual or event.

The Robert H. Purdy House is located on Doty Island on a small peninsula bordering the Fox River. Situated in a secluded neighborhood, the Purdy House is a one-story rectangular brick Colonial Period Revival residence featuring a front portico. The roof material is asphalt, the bond is stretcher, and the foundation material is not visible. The house is constructed in two sections with flat roofs. The main section features a portico at the entryway built into a small attic story with a hipped roof.

An outstanding example of the Colonial Revival Period of Construction, the Robert H. Purdy House is a contributing member of the Lake Road Historic District.
