Little is known about Perry Lindsley. Prior to moving to Neenah he lived in Appleton and worked as a clerk. He occupied this house from 1893 until at least 1905, after which the house was occupied by a series of clerks and travelling salesmen. In 1934 the house was acquired by S.F. Shattuck who resold it two months later to Kimberly-Clark engineer Hans Hefti. Hefti retained the house until his death in 1974.
