| Additional Information: | 2003 - Exceptionally original condition. The 1981 map code is 6/11; on a city engineers base map. The 2004 map code is 156/22a. 2005 - 1 1/2 stories, Shingle style , side-gabled in form, features both a polygonal and gabled roof dormer along front (south) slope of roofline while north elevation has a larger, gabled one. foundation is rock-faced limestone. First floor is sheathed with clapboard while remaining wall surfaces are covered with staggered wooden shingles. front (south) porch features a series of round-arched openings - three have been infilled with modern louvered windows, while the fourth contains a louvered door. windows are irregularly placed and consist of one-over-one light sashes. An attached gabled garage is located on the rear of the house and rests on a concrete block foundation. Little is known about Perry Lindsley. Prior to moving to Neenah he lived in Appleton and worked as a clerk. He occupied this house from 1893 until at least 1905, after which the house was occupied by a series of clerks and travelling salesmen. In 1934 the house was acquired by S.F. Shattuck who resold it two months later to Kimberly-Clark engineer Hans Hefti. Hefti retained the house until his death in 1974. |
