Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. An apparent disparity between side elevation (segmentally arched openings) and fron facade (rectangular fenestration) suggest this three story brick structure has been altered. Decorative brickwork appears in spandrel panels. This was the first home of the Wisconsin National Life Insurance Co. from 1908-11. The Wisconsin National Life Insurance Co. was chartered in 1908 as the first legal reserve stock life insurance company in Wisconsin. This is a form of life insurance company which has since become more prevalent. |
