Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the State Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. This three story Italianate building has been stripped of most of its ornamentation. The four second story segmentally arched windows retain pressed metal hood molds (identical to the adjoining building OS 15/10). Corner pilasters retain capitals at the second and third floors. From the location of the property, it is possible that this is the site of Mrs. McCabe's block with stable in rear, origin of the 1874 fire. The property did belong to her. At any rate, this building, also belonging to her, was erected immediately afterward. |
