A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the State Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. This group of buildings was constructed at a cost of $10,000 in 1884. The combination of materials (red brick with black brick and stone trim) suggests a Queen Anne influence. A central three story structure is flanked by two story buildings. Windows are rectangular, closely set with common sill and lintel. Although the painting of 416 detracts from the composition, this group is significant as an example of the commercial Queen Anne and of Water's work in this style. Built by E.E. Stevens. |
