Additional Information: | BUILT IN C. 1910 (SEE BIB. REF. F), THIS TWO AND A HALF-STORY QUEEN ANNE HOUSE FEATURES AN IRREGULAR SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A STONE FOUNDATION, A CLAPBOARD EXTERIOR, A WOOD TRIM, AND AN ASPHALT SHINGLED HIP AND GABLE ROOF. INTERSECTING WITH THE MAIN ROOF IN THE ATTIC STORY IS A PEDIMENTED GABLE DORMER. A SECOND STORY BAY WINDOW ON THE FACADE AND A TWO-STORY THREE-SIDED BAY ON THE SIDE ELEVATION ARE EACH CAPPED IN THE ATTIC STORY BY ANOTHER PEDIMENTED GABLE ROOF. WINDOW TRACERY EMBELLISHES THE WINDOWS FOUND IN THE ATTIC STORY, WHILE LEADED GLASS DISTINGUISHES THOSE FOUND ON THE FIRST STORY. A FULL-LENGHT FRONT PORCH HAS ITS FLAT ROOF SUPPORTED BY SLENDER TUSCAN COLUMNS. ACCORDING TO THE INVENTORY CARD DESCRIBING THIS BUILDING, RUSTICATED CONCRETE BLOCK COMPRISES THE FOUNDATION, WHICH IS VISIBLE BENEATH THE PORCH. THIS RESIDENCE IS IN GOOD CONDITION. INDIVIDUALS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS DWELLING AND THE DATES OF THEIR ASSOCIATIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: JOHN FIEDLER IN 1905; GRACE IVEY IN 1915; AND THE IVEY SISTERS IN 1925. THIS BUILDING WAS DESIGNATED LOCALLY, BECOMING PART OF THE MINERAL POINT LANDMARK DISTRICT IN 1972. |
