In 1959, the congregation left the Wisconsin Synod and changed their name to St. John's Independent Lutheran Church. On Nov. 25, 1962, the property was transferred to American Lutheran Church in Arcadia, after the congregation disbanded. (American Lutheran Church is now called Christ Lutheran, Arcadia.) The St. John's building was sold and became an apartment building. It has since been demolished.
