NOTES
Additional Information:THE FRAME EARLY 20TH CENTURY CHURCH HAS A STEEPLY PITCHED SLOPING ROOF, POINTED ARCHED STAINED GLASS WINDOWS AND EXTERIOR WOODEN SHUTTERS. A GABLED ENTRANCE AND THE BALUSTRATED, OPEN BELFRY WITH INTERSECTING GABLED ROOFS EXTENDS IN FRONT OF THE STREET FACING GABLE END OF THE CHURCH. THE CLAP BOARDS IN THE FRONT GABLE ARE ARRANGED IN A SYMBOLIC "RISING SUN" MOTIF, WHILE THE CLAPBOARDS ON THE ENTRANCE PORTICO ARE ARRANGED IN A PATTERN OF RAYS RADIATING OUT FROM THE POINTED ARCHED ENTRANCE PORTAL. A SMALL SHED ROOFED EXTENSION HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE FACADE, SOUTH OF THE DOUBLE DOOR ENTRANCE PORTICO.

THIS VERNACULAR GOTHIC REVIVAL CHURCH OF THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY IS ARCHITECTURALLY SIGNIFICANT AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY GOTHIC PERIOD COUNTRY CHURCH, STILL IN ITS ORIGINAL STATE AND IN A PICTURESQUE RURAL SETTING. ONE OF ONLY THREE BUILDINGS OF ANY CONSEQUENCE IN NEW DIGGINGS, THIS CHURCH IS A VISUAL LANDMARK FOR THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITY.
