Additional Information: | Two and one-half story with gable returns and corner boards; shingles in gable; tin roof; canopy over entrance. As of 1977, the house was owned by two different members of the Thompson family. John Thompson had purchased the farm and barn as a second farm in 1967 but the house was put in the name of his mother Mary Thompson as a retirement income rental. Bernie Starzewski purchased the entire farm and buildings together with the house from both of them in 2006. The rejoined property now consists of three outbuildings including a Norwegian style Hoard design dairy barn with milk house, a granary and a machine shed. There had been a chicken house and a summer kitchen both of which were torn down long ago. It is believed that the summer kitchen was the original homestead. |
