Additional Information: | An open tower capped by a tent roof, a shingled gable with canopies, and a veranda are prominent features of this fine Queen Anne residence. Aluminum windows; garage addition. In the Village of Belmont, the Chris Speth house, constructed at the turn of the century, is an architecturally significant example of the Queen Anne style. The well-maintained clapboard and shingle-covered residence is characteristically picturesque with a second floor open tower, prominent gables, and veranda providing the noteworthy details. While not an outstanding illustration, the Speth house is an exceptional addition to Belmont's cultural landscape. A similar residence, though altered, is located at 340 Wood Street (9/22). |
