Additional Information: | 2005-REPLACEMENT SIDING AND ADA RAMP, ALTERED BELFRY, ORIGINAL WINDOWS. 1980-THIS FRAME CHURCH IS L SHAPED IN PLAN WITH A PYRAMIDAL ROOFED BELL TOWER ADJOINING THE MAIN GABLE. ARCHED LOUVERS OCCUR BENEATH THE TOWER ROOF, A PAIR OF LANCET WINDOWS IS LOCATED BELOW THE LOUVERS. SIMPLE LANCET WINDOWS LIGHT THE SANCTUARY, A SEMICIRCULAR WINDOW MARKS THE GABLE END. METAL ROOFS COVER BOTH GABLES. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF THE SIMPLE GOTHIC REVIVAL STYLE AND THE ONLY REMAINING CHURCH OF THIS PLAN IN THE CITY. ANOTHER SIMPLE FRAME GOTHIC CHURCH IS LOCATED AT 101 TENTH AVE. (OS 3/11). HISTORICAL STATEMENT: ANOTHER HISTORIC NAME FOR THE BUILDING BESIDES EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH WAS EMMANUAL LUTHERAN CHURCH. IT WAS VACANT IN 1981. |
