Additional Information: | A frame (now sided) two story that has intersecting sloping roofs and a three-sided bay window. The classical detailed porch is accented by a pediment gable element in the roof that suggests a temple form in the small entrance porch. The house is identical to the house pictured in an ad for J.C. Alderson, a contractor and bulider of Benton in the Benton area. The ad shows that the porch originally had balusters and Tuscan columns. Although this house has not been validated as the work of the local builder and contractor J.C. Alderson, this house is architecurally important as a likely representative example of his work in the community. |
