| Additional Information: | A 'site file' (Paine Lumber Company Historic District) exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. THIS BRICK FIRE STATION IS A NICE EXAMPLE OF A SIMPLIFIED RENAISSANCE REVIVAL DESIGN. ALTHOUGH LACKING IN DEPTH, THE SECOND STORY CENTRAL WINDOWS ARE RICHLY ORNAMENTATED WITH ROUND ARCHES SPRINGING FROM PILASTERS. THIS IS THE ONLY FIRE STATION WHICH HAS NOT BEEN DRASTICALLY REMODELED. |
