Additional Information: | NOW RESTORED. THIS MAY ORIGINALLY HAVE BEEN A ONE-ROOM SCHOOLHOUSE. This small, very simple Gothic Revival style church building is clad in clapboards. The building is now apparently used as a dwelling and its original pointed arch window openings and windows have now been replaced with modern double hung flat-arched windows. A map of Stephensville in the 1889 Outagamie County Plat Book shows a church on this lot known as the Union Church, but it is not known if this T-plan church is the same one as is on the lot today (2002). A church is shown on this lot in the 1917 Atlas of Outagamie County as well, called the Methodist Episcopal Church, and it is likely that this is the church that exists today. |
