NOTES
Additional Information:Built in 1929 (See Bib. Ref. B), this two-story Commercial Vernacular styled retail building features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a brick exterior, and a flat roof. A parapet with a stone trim distinguishes the facade. On the second story, brick lintels and projecting sills frame the windows. This structure is in good condition. Historical Background: The Ryall Building housed the Ryall Hardware Store which had previously been located in the Williams Block (101-105 N. Iowa Street, 47/20). (See Bib. Ref. C). Established in 1886 by Louis Ryall, the store carried round oak stoves, ranges and funaces, Florence oil stoves, Eclipse lawn mowers, Speed Queen Washing machines, Century oil burners and "humdreds of other articles which up-to-date hardware stores handle." (See Bib. Ref. B).
