Additional Information: | 2022: This farmstead consists of the Fickert House, two garages, and a large barn. The two-and-one-half-story, gable ell farmhouse was constructed c.1900. It is clad in clapboard shingles and has a cross-gable roof covered with asphalt shingles. A tall, rectangular, interior brick chimney is towards the northeast elevation of the roof. Windows are one-over-one, double-hung sash. At the south end of the front (northeast) facade is a partial-width porch with a hip roof. A corner window bay is towards the center of the facade. A one-and-one-half-story garage is south of the house, clad in clapboard, and has a side-gable roof covered in asphalt shingles. To the north of the house is another one-story garage clad in clapboard that has a front-gable roof covered in asphalt shingles. A gable-roof barn with concrete stave silo is located to the east of the house. It is of frame construction and clad in wood vertical board, with metal roofing. WHPD identifies the house as the Fickert House, but no further information is given and research did not reveal information on the original occupants. |
