NOTES
Additional Information:Compliance Survey for WisDOT project, 20023 by HRL/Vogel: This two-story, Mediterranean Period house (AHI #69537) appears influenced by the Mission style as defined by its wide overhanging eaves, red tile roof and smooth stucco sheathed walls. Oriented on an east/west axis, it employs a front-facing ell plan, the ell itself being in the structure’s northeast corner. The roof is hipped, though with a flat top (a decked, hipped roof). Stylistically, the house is thought to date to the circa 1930s. The primary entrance is in the easternmost endwall, offset to the right (north) and surrounded by variegated quarried stone. The doorway is recessed, the recess also sheathed with variegated stone and crowned by a round arch. Immediately above the doorway is a modern, round-arched window. To the left (south) of the doorway is a large, rectangular picture window, above which (on the second floor and tucked under the eave) is a unit of paired, double-hung, one-over-one light sashes. Around the southeast corner, on the south sidewall is a first floor window with a central pane flanked by two narrower panes of the same height, after which (to the west) is a dominant, red brick chimney followed by another three-pane window that replicates that to the right (east) of the chimney. Second floor, double-hung windows like the second floor window on the east façade, are centered on the windows below and tucked under the eaves. Projecting from the southwest corner of the house is a one-story addition with a flat roof as well as two, symmetrically placed units of three long window panes, the present windows replaced the ones extant in 1991. Around the northeast corner from the primary entrance, the ell’s east sidewall has first-floor windows that appear to open onto a patio, above which are two single, one-over-one-light, double-hung sashes tucked under the eave. A slightly sunken, two-car garage with a flat roof is attached to the house and situated adjacent to the northeast corner of the ell. Immediately west of the garage, and extending north from the original north endwall of the house is another two-story wing that, as discerned from an analysis of aerial photographs, was likely constructed between 2005 and 2010. Also on the property, at the south end of the driveway and adjacent to Leonard Point Road, is the driveway gate (AHI #245704).
