It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This house was built for Mrs. Mark Plummer in the mid-to-late 1880s. Mark Plummer was a native of England who emigrated to New York State before settling in Winnebago County in the 1850s. He died in 1874 at the age of 54. The family had extensive farmlands extending south from State Highway 110 to the shores of Lakes Butte Des Morts and other farms in the Town of Vinland. The Plummer family owned farms in this vicinity into the 1940s. |
