NOTES
Additional Information:This industrial complex includes both frame and brick structuers; the major buildings are three stories in height. The most distinctive of the brick structures is located on the corner of Oregon St. and W. Sixth, and dates from the turn of the century. Stone forms the foundation, sills and lintels; brick pilasters and corbelling divide the Sixth Ave. elevation into three sections and mark the corners. The cornice has been rebuilt.

The company was organized orginally in 1855 and moved to this site in 1889. Fire destroyed all the original buildings in 1895 but the office and plant were rebuiltin 1896. Expansions caused the plant to be bult piecemeal over the next 32 years through 1928. The Morgan company is one of the oldest firms in the city and played a significant role in Oshkosh;s development as the premier lumber center in the state in the late nineteenth century.

The plant extends on either side of Oregon St. and to the River from 6th St.
