The Smith School is a nicely composed design, combining academic Classic scale with rounf arched windows and roof treatment typical of the Renaissance Revival. The building is significant as an example of the work of WIlliam Waters, the local architect responsible for the schools designed in Oshkosh from the 1870s through 1915. Meyer and Domke were the contractors.
