Additional Information: | 2023: This one and one-half story commercial building was constructed 1923 and displays characteristics of the Craftsman style such as widely overhanging eaves, exposed rafter tails, knee braces, and banks of windows. The exterior is clad in asbestos siding with wood band trim. The front-gable roof is covered with asphalt composition shingles and features gabled dormers on the center of the north and south slopes. The windows throughout the first and second story are replacement one-over-one hung sash or single pane windows. The basement level retains some of the original three-lite wood sash windows as well as replacement one-by-one sliding sash windows. The principal elevation faces S. Main Street and is symmetrical in composition with a central plate glass entrance flanked by banks of windows. 1981: This building was constructed as office space for Buckstaff, but echoes residential styles of the period The significance of this building is only by virtue of its connection with the plant (See 1102 S. Main - WN 27/14). |
