NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. DESCRIPTION
This two-story gabled ell house has low pitched intersecting gable roof and a layer fostucco covering up most of the original stone facade. Where the stucco has been removed, it shows that the house was built of coursed limestone rubble. There are smooth limestone corner quoins. Windows are two-over-two double-hung sasheswith stone segmental arches. A one-story bay that is covered with clapboard sits at the end of one of the ells. Attachedat one end of the openings. Also on the property is a gambel roofed barn with board siding sitting on a limestone foundation. A wooden shed extends off of the barn and ther is a rock-face concrete block silo without its top sitting at the end of the barn.

ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SIGNIFICANCE
Although stucco covers alot of this house, the stone work that is revealed shows a high level of workmanship and high quality of details. There are a number of stone houses in Mequon, but most are constructed of fieldstone. This course limestone rubble house shows that the stonemasons of the area were equally skilled with limestone as with fieldstone.
