Additional Information:DESCRIPTION
This house is a two-story gabled ell with a steeply-pitched intersecting gable roof. It si covered with abestos shingles and sits on a stone foundation. There are decorative shingles in the gable peaks. Windows are mostly single-pane double-hung sashes and some wre being installed in 1990. The ell porch is enclosed with single-pane double-hung sashes. Also on the property are several gable-roofed sheds and a barn with a gable roof, board siding and a fieldstone foundation.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
This property was owned by August Radue between the he claimed 160 acres on the Farmdale Road in 1839 until 1873. [b, f p.42] Paul radue then owned the property between 1876 until 1915.[a,b] The buildings date from both August and Paul radue's tentureon this farm. August Radue was part of the Freistadt settlement tht came from Northern Germany to the United States for religious freedom. August Radue and his family came to Mequon in 1839, one of the earliest Freistadt settlers were Lutherans who were being persecuted by German authorities because they refused to adher to the State church at thath time.
