Additional Information: | DESCRIPTION This house is a two-story frame cross gable buildings covered with asphalt siding. It sits on a fieldstone foundation and has a small entry porch with a hip roof and a plain square post. This farmstead also includes a one-story fieldstone smoke house, and some sheds, and a large basement barn. ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SIGNIFICANCE The feildstone-constructed smokehouse would contribute to thematic of stone outbuildings in Mequon. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND This house and agricultural outbuildings were owned by William F. Jahn between 1876 and 1873 and by Gustav Jahn between 1892 and 1931. |
