NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. The Lea House is a two story Italianate style house with a low-pitched hip roof with wide overhanging eaves decorated with pendant brackets. The house has a covering of aluminum siding and the walls are punctuated with multiple light sashes. The original porches have been removed in favor of modern overhangs. The Lea House contributes to the architectural significance of the Lake Street Historic District because it is one of the largest examples of the Italianate style in Waupaca. Although it has had some remodeling, its main details, including the form and massing and the bracketed roof, are intact. It was also the home of one of Waupaca's important early pioneers and businessmen, Richard Lea.
