Additional Information: | 1993: This is a two-story cude house with a hip-with-a-deck roof and center gables on three sides. The structure is clapboard clad with wooden shingles in the gables end. A teo-story, gable-roofed addition has been appended to the rear of the addition. The farm complex consists of several outbuildings, including a pumphouse, corncrib, two metal pole barns, a metal gambrel-roofed machine shed, a clapboard shed, a garage, a barn complex and five silos. The barn complex consists of a gable-roofed, vertical board sided barn with an appended milkhouse. The residence was built in c. 1889, probably for W. Hanes. In the early part of the twentieth century the farm was purchased by Ed Hartzke. who established the Elder Lawn Farm. |
