| Additional Information: | Arched entry. Flat roof. 2022: This 1-story Romanesque Revival water utility building/pump house was constructed in 1936 as a WPA project. It is rectangular in plan with coursed ashlar walls and a flat roof. The front elevation faces south and is symmetrical in composition with a projecting center bay containing round-arched recess within which is located the front door (a modern metal security door). The round-arch has a red brick surround with an elongated stone keystone. Tall, narrow window openings are located in the front wall on each side of the projecting center bay. Both window openings feature red brick surrounds and have been infilled with stone or cast stone blocks. A band of red bricks with stone accents runs along the perimeter of the building just below the roof. Both side elevations contains additional window openings that have been infilled with glass block. A secondary door is located in the rear elevation; this is a wood panel door set within a rectangular surround that is accented by red brick. A stone chimney with red brick detailing projects from the roof. |
