Additional Information: | DESCRIPTION This two-story gabled ell house has a steeply-pitched gable roof, asbestos shingles siding, and a fieldstone foundation. Windows are mostly two-over-two light double-hung sashes topped with cornice lintels. The front ell porch is enclosed. A side porch has a spool and spindel frieze and turned posts. Also on the property are some sheds and a small gambreol-roofed barn with board siding. A concrete silo sits at the end of the barn. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND This house and agricultural outbuildings were owned by John Schoessow between 1875 and 1901 and by Emil Gierach between 1915 and 1948. [a,b] |
