| Additional Information: | This brick building stands two stories in height. Modifications to the exterior include painting the building, introduction of wood paneling to cover the transom and addition of aluminum windows. The second story window openings are segmentally arched and arranged in an uneven rhythm. The central opening contains a pair of windows. On either side of this are single windows, with southernmost corresponding with the side stairway entrance. The most interesting component of the design is the denticulated, pressed metal cornice. This building was erected around 1894. The first tenant was the grocery company mentioned above. It has had a number of commercial uses since its construction. Note: Demolished prior to 2005; does not appear on 2005 aerial on Portage County GIS site. |
