A BRICK TWO-STORY STRUCTURE ON AN ELEVATED BASEMENT THAT HAS A HIP ROOF PENETRATED BY PEDIMENTED ROOF DORMERS WITH ROUND ARCH WINDOWS. A STRING COURSE OF BRICKS AT WINDOW SILL LEVEL DIVIDES THE STRUCTURE INTO THREE PARTS. VERTICAL BRICK LINTELS, STONE SILLS, A ROUND ARCH ENTRY PORTICO WITH A SCULPTURED PARAPET AND A ROUND APSE FORMATION AT THE REAR ARE FEATURES OF THIS INSTITUTIONAL STRUCTURE.
2016 - "The Holy Rosary Catholic Church complex contains a church [80682], rectory [232936], convent [73205], and elementary school [232937], and occupies a city block bounded by East Mary Street, East Harriet Street, Wells Street, and Main Street.
The convent building (AHI No. 73205) (c.1914) is a two-and-one-half-story brick building with a rectangular plan that rests on a brick foundation. The hip roof is covered in asphalt shingles and features a simple cornice. A gable on the main (east) facade has a prominent cornice and cross at the apex, and features an arched, one-over-one, double-hung, sash window. A flat roof entry porch features a stepped parapet, a prominent cornice, square brick corner columns, and central arch. The walls are brick and windows are vinyl, one-over-one, double-hung sash."
