NOTES
Additional Information:Architectural Statement: This two story cube features a cut stone foundation and a vinyl sided exteiror. Multi-paned rectangular windows are scattered on the design. Numerous remodelings obscure the style of the house. One such remodeling included a one story enclosed porch which was added to the main, north facade. Tapering pilasters and a hip roof distinguish this porch. At one time, a heavy cornice encircled the building and clapboards covered the exterior. Attic story pediments, a hip roofed door hood and segmental arched basement windows are other decorative elements of the dwelling. The residence was built in c. 1875 with an addition and/or alteration made in c. 1895. [B, D]. It is in fair condition. Walter Sawyer was an individual associated with this building from 1894 to 1919. [A]. Other map codes include Waukesha City Map 79/6 and District Map 78/21A.
