Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the State Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. This Greek Revival styled residence differs from the majority of Greek Revival designs remianing in Waukesha. In this instance the building is oriented so that the long axis, rather than the gable end, forms the main facade. The building is covered with clapbaords and rises one story, plus attic, above the stone foundation. Thin corner posts frame the facade and rise to a cornice (with returns on the gable ends). Unfortunately an enclosed porch obscures the original facade. Originally constructed as a small residence, the building was substantially enlarged by a one and one-half story addition extending to the rear. The residence is in fair condition. The facade is oriented to the East. |
