OAHP INVENTORY (06/1981): This cheese factory was constructed aroud 1889 by Mr. Fred Balhorn during the period of its operation this plant was known as the Seymour Valley Cheese Factory (1900-1921). The Fairview Cheese Factory (1921-47), The Seymour Creamery Co. (1947-1974) and Lov-It Butter (1974-1976) before closing its doors in 1976. While it is difficult to pindown the dates of additions, major improvements were probably added around 1910 and again in 1930. The original structure would then consist of gabled structure with the partially obscured boom town facade. Overall the structure measures approximately 50' x 80'. cheese factory |
