OAHP INVENTORY (07/1981):
This structure was originally built by the Binghamton Cheese Producers Association around 1919 as a cheese factory. The Binghampton Dairy Co. produced cheddar cheese between 1919 and 1949. In 1949 the operation was purchased by the Peerless Cheese Company and subsequently sold to Mr. J. Carovetta in 1954. The current owners purchased the property in 1970.

The two story structure measures 60' x 36', on a rubble foundation. The roof has recently been reduced and the second story has been altered for residential use. A single story cinder block addition measures 25' x 48' occupies the western edge of the 0.18 acre site.

2016: This building has been demolished; not sure when.
