NOTES
Additional Information:Photo codes: OU:FRV 8:12, 13, 15. See HAER form. OAHP INVENTORY (07/1981): This structure was constructed around 1921 by Mr. Ervin F. Eick as a cheese and butter factory. The business was operated by Mr. August Larsen who served as proprietor until 1928 when the operation closed due to strong competition from the Murphy Ward Co. which opened in Nichols the same year. Around 1934 the property was sold to Mr. A. L. Vande Walle. During the 30's and 40's the forward half of the building was used as a barber shop, the rear half was converted for residential use and continues to be used for that purpose today. The single story brick structure measures 30' x 58' and has a stepped boom down facde with tile copings.
