NOTES
Additional Information:Photo code: OUT:FRV 4:2A. See Haer form. OAHP INVENTORY (08/1981): The Knapstein Brewing Co. operated a brewery from 1875-1959 in New London. As part of the plant's expansion a two story brick bottling and storage facility was constructed off Mill Street immediately west of the plant, abound 1910. During prohibition the company was forced to temporaily cease production and the bottling buiding was sold to the Wolf Valley Dairy Co. in 1921. The Wolf Valley Dairy Co. was established as a cream buying station which later went into the production of bottled milk and ice cream, eventually becoming the Verifine Dairy Products Co. In 1931 the Wolf Valley Co. added two smaller structures to the north of the former Knapstein bottling facility. These were initially frame structures which were later replaced by the existing brick structures, probably in the early to mid fourties. The existing strutures have been useed for storage since the mid seventies.
