Additional Information: | Yeatman came with a party of settlers led by Jacob Spaulding in the summer of 1839 from Prairie du Chien for the purpose of improving the water power and erecting a mill on the Black River. This was the first permanent settlement of Black River Falls. Spaulding was in charge of building the mill. |
