Kies Cut Stone Co. has two main buildings. Building #1 is presently (06/1981) used for offices. this building is 60 x 40 feet. It is a wood frame building, one story, with a gabled roof, cedar shake wooden shingles, with a concrete block, metal and wooden pillar foundation. The floor plan is rectangular. Building #2 is the stone cutting building. It is two stories, with gabled roof, concrete block foundation, wood frame and wood exterior walls. It also has a rectangular floor plan. This building has two small additions on the grounds. The Kies Cut Stone Co. is presently (06/1981) owned and operated by Ed Kies. Ed and his father, John Kies, use to run the business until John passed away. The Kies family has been in the stone cutting business long before the business in Appleton.
