Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. The Communication Building was constructed in 1928 (occupied in Jan. 1930) to house the new Teaching Laboratory. It accomodated primary, intermediate, and junior high school grades and provided prospective teachers an opportunity to practice their profession with supervision under normal public school conditions. The building contained regular classrooms, assembly rooms, offices, observation rooms, laboratories, a children's library, and an attached gymnasium. Red brick and limestone; three stories; collegiate kind of Renaissance Revival; projecting entrance bay and end pavilions.
