Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "Memorial Park Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. Previously surveyed in 1986. Partially enclosed front full length porch with short square posts placed on brick bases; shingled gable ends; two story north and south pedimented gable roofed bays with cut away corners; gabled dormer over second story projecting rectangular bay. This was the home of Louis Cordes, a brickmaking firm owner, between c. 1907 and c. 1919. It was the home of baker Arthur Radtke between c. 1924 and c. 1936. This house has some historical interest as the home of Louis Cordes, brickmaker. Initial research indicates that his career is not significant, therefore, this house does not meet the criteria for local historical significance. In the proposed historic district for this area, however, this house would be considered contributing to the overall historical significance of the district under criterion B, association with significant persons as a group. |
